Finding out I was pregnant at 18, the day after my high school graduation came as quite a shock to me (as you can imagine). Holding those two sticks in my hand, one with two lines and the other with a big “Yes”, my first thought was “I can’t do this. I can’t have a kid.” . It sounds selfish and immature but I couldn’t help but think about my summer break plans. I was supposed to be going out all the time, going to music festivals, getting together with my friends, all while working part time at a restaurant that I had been at for two years. This was my year! I was free! I honestly did not think that nine months from then I’d still be pregnant waiting for my little girl to come into this world next month.

You would think being so young and having a child, that the feeling of “missing out” would be a given. To tell you the truth I don’t think I missed out at all. I have experienced something that my friends won’t for years. I have experienced a different kind of love for someone I haven’t  even met. I am going to be a mother. This is all me and my partner have ever wanted together but it just came sooner than expected. I have no regrets. This has also shown me who my true friends are. The ones who have stuck around.

I can not imagine my life being any other way. I wouldn’t change one thing even if I could. screen-shot-2016-12-18-at-11-38-24-am
